Historic Española Way is a beautiful stretch of two blocks at
the heart of South Beach, where the cities famed art-deco
design takes a back seat to the classic Spanish
Mediterranean architecture. After the festival Centerpiece
Gala screening of Anger Me at the Colony Theatre, check
into the Miami Beach Cinematheque at 512 Española Way for
your MAP, wristband and “stop #1” of the tour, featuring “The Wrestling Rooster Girls” who will get you in the mood
for the rest of the show! Remember last year’s infamous
BEDART party? Well, MBC Curator Dana Keith is back with
more surprises this year...from digital format art to singing
divas, to drag flamenco lessons! Along the way you will
encounter the digital and performance works of “Telepatia”
by Dinorah de Jesús Rodriguez, “Profondo Rosso” by Rachel
Hoffman, “Cowboy Midsections” by Wendy Babcox, “Disposable” by Jo Gell and Robyn Paterson,“David + Jonathan” by Jan
Wandrag, and many others. Store fronts and side-walk cafes will morph into exhibition spaces where avant garde cinema
and experimental live performance merge for an evening of unique cutting-edge art and entertainment. Flamenco
performances and lessons by divas in drag, human hair manipulated into installation works of art, gigantic human roosters
fighting in a boxing ring, sleeping beauties in dreamlike dazes, erotic silhouette performers, window dancers, and a
reigning British monarch waving to her subjects from atop a balcony and more … all combine to make an unforgettable
evening for on-lookers and revel-ers. Take a riveting journey down Espanola Way and find yourself transported to a
fantastical destination where time and place no longer exist – an experience only suited for your wildest imagination,
where anything can happen.
Exclusive serving stations will be set-up offering complimentary Stoli cocktails, Monster energy and Perrier to wristbanded
ticket holders and VIP guests.
Parking: Española Way is a short walk from the Colony Theatre. Convenient parking is available in the municipal garages
located at 16th Street and Collins Ave. and along Lincoln Road.
