Ever wonder what it would be like to grow up in a country where gays and lesbians have full legal equality including marriage and divorce? This multi-award winning documentary takes an honest look at what it's like to grow up gay in Iceland. Although Icelandic laws are considered very liberal toward gays and lesbians, the nine articulate lesbian and gay youth featured have mainly grown up in small communities and face the same issues that confront young queer people all around the world: How do you tell your family? Your friends? How do you find other people like yourself?

In choosing Iceland as backdrop, co-directors Gunnarsdottir and Kristinsson have in their hands a wonderful film which is inspirational, courageous and candid. The coming-out testimonials, including one gay youth who in a moment of sudden valiancy tells all his classmates he is gay, will melt any heart, and make you want to hop on the next plane to Reykjavik.
In Icelandic with English subtitles.

Following the screening, there will be a discussion panel hosted by Lisette Woskobojnik, Program Coordinator of Pridelines, a Miami-Dade organization who specifically work with queer youth.
Total running time: 56 min.
