The Miami Gay & Lesbian Film Festival (MGLFF) has been handed an extraordinary opportunity, and WE NEED YOUR HELP to realize it! A donor who lives here in our community, and who wishes to remain anonymous at this time, has made an extraordinary offer to the festival, and really, to the gay & lesbian community of Miami. This donor has decided to offer what we have dubbed the Angel Grant in the amount of $50,000 to the Festival - if, and this is a $50,000 IF - the Miami community can raise a matching amount.
The $50,000 Angel Grant can go a long way at this critical time for our organization. It's getting increasingly difficult to fund our beloved community organizations from big sponsors - so it's opportunities like this that will make all the difference to ensure MGLFF meets the full $390,000 operating budget that it needs to put on the 2004 Festival. WE NEED THE ENTIRE COMMUNITY'S HELP to help us get this money - the Angel Grant only applies to special, 100% tax-deductible gifts to MGLFF, (this is the important part) separate from any membership or ticket dollars you might spend with us. This is why we are appealing not only to your generosity, but your creativity - think outside the box! Does the company you work for having a matching gift program that we could in turn double with the Angel Grant? Do you have friends in banks or law firms that earmark funds for charitable organizations? Call them up and sell them MGLFF! If everyone who ever enjoyed a MGLFF screening or event bugged 5 friends each to give $20, we'd land this entire Angel Grant tomorrow! This is your Festival - do what you need to make sure it MGLFF has the solid footing it needs for next year. THE TIME IS NOW and IT WON'T HAPPEN WITHOUT YOU! As of Feb. 14th we had already raised over $30,000 of our goal - thus raising $60,000 for the Festival. We still have the potential to receive $20,000 more from our Angel Grant - if we can raise the last $20,000 from within our own community. Please consider making this donation today - every $1 you give means $2 for the Festival - and your Festival will thank you for it!!!!
