Third Annual Festival

Festival Schedule

By Any Means Necessary:Ý Producing Gay and Lesbian Feature Films

Whether it's funding or talent or good luck or sheer perseverance, each of the directors on today's panel has a story to tell about what made it possible for them to get their visions up on the big screen.Ý The filmmakers, hailing from Paris, New York and Los Angeles, will have a chance to explain their entire process, from scripting to raising the money to finding the actors to production and beyond.Ý And the entire panel will take a look at the issue of lesbian and gay-themed features, and the ups and downs of alternative films in a mass market medium.Ý If you want to know how it's done, from the inside, or you too have a burning desire to see your ideas realized on celluloid (or digital video, as the case may be), this is the panel not to miss.Ý Meet the directors whose films you loved (or didn't) and get an opportunity to delve deeper into the artistic and business ends of making movies.Ý With moderator Frances NegrÛn, South Florida-based filmmaker and writer; Shari Carpenter, director of Kali's Vibe; Cheryl Dunye, director of Stranger Inside and The Watermelon Woman;Ý Ilan Duran Cohen, director of The Confusion of Genders;Ý Christopher Livingston, director of Hit and Runway; and Nickolas Perry, director of Speedway Junky.

5:00 PM Panel free and open to the public
